Sunday’s ART of Truth – “Falling for Fall” 11-01-20

Welcome to Sunday’s ART of Truth! I went way out of my comfort zone on this piece. As I mentioned in the video, I don’t care for fall. Holidays in general have always been fraught with difficulty, triggers, trauma & chaos. October, in particular. Over the years, the power of the seasons dissipate and I can face into it in a very different way. I still find myself wishing certain seasons away because I have not been successful at separating them from the past. I want to be able to really embrace all that God intended for each season that He gave us. So, I decided I would begin to make some holiday art! This was a great one to experiment with 😊 I am so happy with how it turned out.

I chose “falling for fall” as my title because I actually found great joy in this process and creating this piece. It was difficult. I found I wanted to correct things and change the direction it was going but I stayed the course. As I was working on it, I realized that I have a choice here. I can choose to wish seasons away. I can choose to see them through trauma shattered lenses.

So, I decided to fall for fall.

Choosing to chart our own course through the badlands of the past, is just that, our choice. We can choose to drag the ghosts of holidays past, behind us. What if? What if an even greater healing is found by choosing to release our hearts from the remnants of what was so that we can embrace what is? This is not to say that there is not work to be done. We need to know our stories. We need to accept our stories. We need time to heal from our stories. However, I believe there comes a time when we must make the exchange- new for old. It is difficult to open our hands and hearts to the beauty that is before us when we stuck in old patterns of thinking and feeling. My work around these things is done. It is time for me to reach and reach and reach for everything that is good and everything that is from the Creator.

So, I fell for fall 😊

In that place, I found myself giggling, almost laughing. I truly loved the piece when it was done. It felt right and good. Freedom came in the falling. In the letting go. In the trying something new. In the breaking of thought patterns and attitudes I have held onto for so long.

My friends, I don’t know if this will resonate with anyone. I sure hope so. I hope that the courage will rise up within you to make a change. Exchange lies for truth and enjoy new and growing freedom. I pray that you will be able to exchange new for old. I hope this encourages you to know that you are not alone.

You are not alone.

You are worthy of joy, hope, love & new tomorrows.

There is promise in front of you, though there has been darkness behind you.

Embrace it. Baby steps.

Until next time my sweet friends,

Beloved-Reborn
