Sunday’s ART of Truth – LAST YouTube Video – “Peace” is the word – 02-21-21

Good Morning Friends 🙂 I wanted to let you know that this is my last video that will be hosted via YouTube. I talk a little bit about the reasons why in the video introduction. Please know how incredibly grateful I am to those of you have chosen to follow my art journey and have supported me in that. I am truly blessed. I hope that you will continue to follow. I will still be uploading videos but will not be using YouTube as my platform, nor Facebook as my marketing tool. Vimeo is the platform I have chosen to upload my video files to. The process, for you as the viewer is no different. A link will be provided here that you can click on and it will take you straight to the video on Vimeo, rather than YouTube. You don’t have to have an account on Vimeo either. I will also post the video links on my Gab Social & MeWe accounts. It will take some time to get the word out there but I sure hope to see you over there as well. The links are below 🙂

Whew, now that we have business out of the way, I wanted to talk to you a little bit about the word peace, my word for 2021. I have never chosen a word for the year but I really felt compelled to do so for 2021. As you all know, 2020 was not a year any of us would necessarily want to repeat and it brought enormous challenges. Many suffered job loss, a great deal of uncertainty in regards to job, school, social gatherings etc. We have been separated from our loved ones and friends for an extended period of time. The media has not been kind to us either. The news, I have found to be consistently repelling and depressing. I have found myself caught up in the depth of despair and disenfranchisement with humanity as a whole. I had to really repent of that, of late.

I succumbed to the constant ingestion of negativity and allowed my time & heart to be consumed by it. As I was trying to get back in the hang of creating and filming videos, I felt quite drawn to the word peace.

On one wall in my studio, I have a saying that says – “Peace…it does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.” I had glanced over at it one day while I was in the studio and looking for inspiration. It occurred to me how I had allowed peace to be sacrificed at the feet of the media, social media & news in general.

I love that quote so much.

What does it mean to be in that place and be able to remain calm in our hearts?

Where do we go to find peace?

What do we do to allow for self-care when the world is a storm around us and when uncertainty is the recipe of the day (or year)?

I felt humbled as I realized how much I had given up in regards to peace and a deep sense of well-being. My time with Jesus came to a halt. I was too absorbed by the ‘world’, I didn’t make time.

Yet, without peace, everything else fails in life, in my opinion. When we live in peace, our perspective is shifted outside of the circumstances and into the realm of possibility & hope.

My friends, I want to encourage you today, as I continue to encourage myself…

Don’t forget what your heart values.

Don’t forget what brings you joy and what settles your spirit.

We are what we think. Our life and days play out based on what we feed our minds and hearts.

I find comfort in the knowing that I can always return to peace. It is a choice. It is a discipline in the midst of our screaming & self-indulgent world.

A new journey begins for me as a launch my art sharing on new platforms. It is scary. Part of me wants to return to the ‘audience’ I once had. Those days are gone. For those of you who know me, it was never my heart or intention to garner a large following in order to puff myself up, on the contrary, I was repeatedly touched by those who chose to follow and watch my feeds and read my words.

I simply want to share my art journey.

I simply want to inspire.

I simply want to share my truth so that people know that they are not alone.

So, here I am again at the starting point…waiting and anticipating what God is going to do 🙂

Blessings my friends. I love you all 🙂
