This is Episode 10 of my Junk Journal Waterfall Ephemera Series, and today we’re exploring a horizontal waterfall element using the same rolling mechanism we’ve been working with throughout the series.
In this video, I’ll show you how to take the familiar waterfall construction and turn it sideways to create a horizontal waterfall page for your junk journals. It took a little experimenting to work out the details, however, the end result was a success — and I truly love how this orientation adds visual interest, movement, and generous writing space to a journal spread.
If you’ve been following along with the series, you’ll already know how to prepare the rolling mechanism, making this a great next-step variation that builds on what you’ve learned. Both vertical and horizontal waterfalls have their own charm, and this version offers a beautiful alternative for pages that need something a little different.

- Memory keeping & storytelling
- Prompt or reflection pages
