Hello friends,
Welcome to Sunday’s ART of Truth. Today, I wanted to share you with you this process video for this gorgeous mixed media project. I used a 12 x 12 gallery depth wood panel as my substrate. Additionally, I used a transfer from Dress My Craft as my focal point. This one was a challenge. In part this is due to being out of practice with mixed media, but also because of the processing that I was doing internally as I created it. This was intended to post on Sunday 9/5/21 but I postponed as I needed more time to process some deeper things that I bumped into while creating this.
Our world is in turmoil. It feels like it is falling apart at its seams. Violence, war, pandemic, arguing, hatred & ugliness. I was thinking about what it takes to step away from all the chaos and get refreshed. I know that when I simplify, things feel much more manageable. Limit time spent absorbing the news and step back into a place of peace and simplicity.
School started the week before Labor Day. It didn’t take me long to find that one of the secrets is to be as a child. To be in the moment. To laugh, play games, think about simple things. You see, kids, are at large, completely unaffected by the events of the world. Their world is small. It is so simple and pleasing. They are all about what is in the moment. They are concerned about what is for lunch and what they will play at recess. They don’t worry about what they are going to eat or that their mama is going to have a snack for them after school.
This is simplicity. I am reminded of how beautiful life can be if I just let go.
What would happen if we did the same?
What would happen if we watched less news?
What would happen if we spent less time of social media?
What if we prayed more and worried less?
What if we just told Jesus everything that was troubling us, just as a child would with their parents.
What would it take to do this? To step away? To enter simplicity as a child, like the one in this picture.
Can I encourage you my friends as I am encouraging myself?
Slow down. Enjoy the moments. Create. Read a book. Just sit. Listen to the birds. Feel the sun. Take your time. Turn off the TV. Put a limit on social media. Be kind. See the child in others. Laugh.
Take care my friends,
Blessings,
Beloved-Reborn
I hope you enjoy!
