Welcome to Episode 1 of Watercolor 101. I am doing this series due to popular request. I want to share full disclosure, I am not a watercolor artist, but rather a passionate, enthusiast. I am simply sharing my knowledge of watercolor and the play that we can have with it.
In today’s video, we are talking about the personality of watercolor. It is magical and persnickety at the same time. My encouragement to you is that you embrace the magic and try to let go of your perceptions about watercolor. It is a very playful medium but can also be frustrating as it is does have a mind of its own.
We also talk a little about color theory and the relationships different colors have with each other. I call the ‘friends, foes, and acquaintances.’ I will also demonstrate how the paint will only travel where there is water by creating a water brushed rose and dropping pigment into the water shapes.
