Hello friends,
I have decided to provide a Mixed Media 101 series, as I have had many who are interested. This is Episode 1. We will be working with texture paste/modeling paste in today’s video. We will try a variety of kinds as well as colorizing some of it. Texture paste and modeling paste come in a variety of brands and compositions. As I mentioned in the video, the one I prefer is difficult for me to find. After doing the video and looking at the results, my highest recommendation is the US Art Supply Modeling Paste. It is affordable and I noticed that it stayed white, which I like for this purpose. The important thing is to play.
I also mentioned in the video that I would be happy to do a video on how to make your own modeling paste if there is interest. I personally don’t like it because it does breakdown over time and does have a shelf life. However, I would be happy to offer that as an option for you all.
We played with a lot of stencils. My encouragement is to use what you have. While playing and experimenting, anything will do. I have linked to sets of stencils below that I purchased after I recorded the video. Again, affordable and would be perfect for use in journal making.
